3 Boys VS 1 Girl

What a day! We spent about 6 hours or so at Sea World. We saw lots of neat shows and sea creatures. Cousin Cody found a very friendly bat ray who stayed by us for quite some time.
Our car rides have been very interesting................RAP music. And the boys like it and Nessie does not!! I can't understand many of the words. Guess I am really getting OLD!!!!!

More Fun!

Today we went to a Del Mar beach. We buried Tyler in the sand. Cousin Cody dug the trench. Tyler and Cody found some bigger waves. We took a very long walk on the beach. We went to lunch at a place called The Fish Market. It was delicious. Then we drove down Hwy. 101 and looked around. At night, we went into San Diego and found the longest pier around. Today we are headed to Sea World. I can't wait to see the sea creatures.

I forgot my cord for the camera so I am unable to download pictures. However, I will do that when I get home and post them.

La Jolla and Del Mar

Today we arrived in San Diego. Everything went as planned. The timing was perfect with our flight and Cody's flight. We headed immediately to the beach at La Jolla, and we walked the streets. Craig, Cody and Tyler tried some boogy boarding. They ventured out pretty far. I just kept counting heads..............1,2 and 3. I knew I had everybody. I stayed ashore. The water was "freezing" in my opinion. The boys told me it wasn't. Ya right boys!!! We then headed to Del Mar. It was a fun day!!!

Back on the Ranch

It is Sunday and back into the routine again. Church in the morning and housework in the afternoon. We planted flowers today. PopPop and Engineering Craig are installing a new microwave now. Yes, we went about 8 months without one. Back to work for Craig tomorrow. Tyler and I are still on vacation!!!!

Hawaiin Party!

It was our last day on the island, and we went to a leiu. We saw an amazing sunset. The leiu was on the west side of the island right next to the Marriot (the Marriot that the Pro Bowl football players stayed at).

We are back at home now. Resting...actually doing "things" to the house.

Back to the Bay

It was back to the bay today. We learned about the history of Hanauma Bay. It was formed by a volcano. The Polynesians fished in this area long ago. At one time, the bay was occupied by royalty. One would sing or dance to get in. I did my version of the "Royalty" dance for Tyler and Craig. I don't think my dance would have passed the royalty test. Craig and Tyler snorkeled for a VERY long time. He came to shore and zonked out (as you can see by the picture). We are not too sure what the plan is for tomorrow. We will keep you posted.

Pearl Harbor

Today we played tennis and went to Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor made us sad. So many people lost their lives. Did you know that the U.S. spotted planes on the radar the morning of Dec. 7th? However, they believed the planes belonged to the U.S. The USS Arizona Memorial is treated just as a memorial should be treated. They are very strict in making sure that respect is shown to those soldiers. There is to be very little talking while at the memorial site. The picture on the right is part of the USS Arizona that can be seen from the memorial.

How small is this world? It is so busy here, and I run into Brad Tooker at Pearl Harbor!
Plans for tomorrow- SNORKELING!

Hanauma Bay

Hello! We went to Hanauma Bay (best place to snorkel). We arrived at the bay at 6:30AM. It was awesome. We saw lots of fish. Tyler and Craig saw a GIANT sea turtle. They are very experienced snorkelers. Then there was me. I got the hang of it. Craig kept telling me to breath out of my mouth. It just didn't seem right to be breathing while my head was immersed in water. I got the hang of it, and we had a GREAT time. We plan to return on Monday. Tomorrow we will be going to Pearl Harbor.

Traveling the Island

I am a day off on the blog, because we had a hard time with the Internet connection from our room. So today (Friday) was filled with beach and traveling the island. We attempted to snorkel at this famous area, but it was filled by 8:30 am. They recommended that we come back at 6 AM tomorrow, and we will be able to get in. So guess where we will be at 6 AM tomorrow morning? YES, snorkeling at this place. One of the "cabana" boys told me that this place was the best in the world. If I am getting up at 5 AM on our vacation, it better be the best. Since we weren't able to snorkel at this beach, we headed to another beach to try and boogy board. We get everything out of the car and head down to the water. The lifeguard leaves his post to come talk with us. He told us this place is very dangerous to boogy board. There have been broken necks and backs. We thought it was best if we head to another place he recommended. I told Craig it was our "virgin" skin that gave it away- boogy boarding was not our thing. But the lifeguard made a great recommendation, and we had a blast! We stayed at the beach for quite some time. We then drove around much of the island. Our last stop of the day was the DOLE Plantation. This is when Craig got a little silly on us and turned into a pineapple!!

Aloha!

ALOHA!
We arrived to Waikiki yesterday. It is definitely the island of paradise. After checking into the hotel (Hilton Hawaiian Village), we headed to the beach. Tyler and Craig brought their snorkeling gear to test out. Tyler’s technique of snorkeling is quite unique. As quoted by his Dad- “a goose going in after his prey”. We stayed on the beach for a couple of hours. We didn’t want to over expose our “virgin” skin. Today we are headed to North Shore for some snorkeling. It is suppose to be the place to go. We’ll keep you posted.

American River

Today we took a trip to the American River to kayak. The boys did great. I would hear "right, left, right" as they ventured across the river. I cheered them on while drinking my Starbucks and eating fresh strawberries. How long did the boys last on the river? An hour and a half and they decided they had enough.

The "FUN" family!

As many of you know, my husband does all the "technically" advanced chores in our home. However, I am the "Blog" guru of the family. Read and enjoy as we share with you our summer adventures.
